DIVERSINET ANNOUNCES OVER-THE-AIR PROVISIONING AND LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR OATH-COMPLIANT SOFT TOKENS

MobiSecure Innovations Simplify the Delivery of Strong Authentication Tokens for Consumer Market Applications

Mobile Business Expo 2005 CHICAGO, IL and TORONTO, ON - October 11, 2005 - Diversinet Corp. (OTCBB: DVNTF), a leading provider of mobile-enabled personal authentication and security solutions, today announced at Mobile Business Expo 2005 the release of the industry’s first open mobile security platform to support high-volume Over-The-Air (OTA) consumer deployments of OATH-compliant soft token services. Diversinet’s next generation MobiSecure Authentication Services Center (MASC) enables vendors, enterprises and service providers to deliver the most cost-effective soft token solutions to its customers, independent of device, network and application.

“Provisioning and managing strong authentication tokens for consumers globally are very complex problems for businesses and vendors alike,” says David Annan, CTO of Diversinet. “With online identity fraud growing at a rampant pace, our goal in building MASC was to simplify secure provisioning and lifecycle management of soft tokens for consumer applications. By combining OATH-compliant technologies with our robust OTA capabilities, MASC addresses the market need for a flexible, open mobile security platform and is truly a global service offering for businesses targeting the consumer masses.”

The latest release of MASC is available for commercial deployment today and offers:

  • Secure OTA provisioning of multiple credentials with the MobiSecure Token Wallet, so a single user who wants to strongly authenticate against multiple services, such as online banking and consumer e-commerce applications, can generate multiple one-time passwords based on separate credentials stored in a single MobiSecure soft token application.
  • Efficient OTA provisioning auto-detect features that determines the user’s device type without requiring any input from the user. This feature is critical when deploying to a large number of users who may own many different types of mobile devices.
  • Enhancements for automated OTA provisioning and end-user life-cycle management. The automated provisioning, administration and remote deletion of soft tokens and credentials reduces the complexity and cost of large-scale consumer deployments.
  • Capabilities to embed specific user information into any MobiSecure soft token at the time of provisioning to significantly enhance its value in consumer applications for age verification, loyalty programs and mobile payments.
Diversinet’s MobiSecure suite of soft tokens and MASC offerings are available on the leading intelligent mobile device platforms, including Symbian, Microsoft, RIM, Palm and Java-based phones, on SanDisk TrustedFlash memory cards, as well as on personal computers running Microsoft Windows operating system.
